It takes time to find, hire and train new employees, which results in direct costs to your business, as well as losses due to lower productivity of new hires. For a small business, loss of a key person can have a severe impact, and the cost to replace such an employee is increased because it is less likely that someone else will be able (even temporarily) to step into their shoes. In this workshop you will learn about methods used by large employers to keep their best employees, that apply equally well to smaller businesses. Participants will be encouraged to share questions and concerns and to identifiy short-term and long-term solutions to the challenge of new competition in a tight labor marketplace. Topics to be covered include: employee development and engagement, winning communications, management with impact, and "perks" and incentives.
